Finlandia Foundation sponsors an all-Sibelius concert by a concert by Ruusamari Teppo and Jussi Makkonen March 15 at the School of Music.
The Seattle chapter of Finlandia Foundation celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius with a concert by pianist Ruusamari Teppo (great-granddaughter of the composer) and Finnish cellist Jussi Makkonen.
Program selections on the all-Sibelius performance include Karelia Suite; Impromptu, op 19; Souvenir, op. 99; transcriptions of Piano Pieces; The Tempest, op 109 (an unpublished arrangement by Sibelius’ son-in-law, Jussi Jalas); and Finlandia.
