The School of Music celebrated its Class of 2026 on Friday, June 12 with the school's annual Grand Finale celebration, featuring student and faculty remarks, a chamber music performance by violinist Grace Pandra (BM Strings; BA Accounting); cellist Ignacio Tejeda (PhD, Mathematics), and pianist Andrew Vu; recognition of graduating students, and a reception in the School of Music Fishbowl.
Associate Director Ted Poor welcomed graduates and their loved ones to Brechemin Auditorium for remarks by students Kaisho Barnhill (BA Music Theory; BA Psychology; BM, Music Education); Victoria Parrott (MA, Music History), Assistant Professor Frederick Reece, and Divisional Dean of the Arts Gabriel Solis. Graduates were recognized during an informal processional across the Brechemin Auditorium stage and a hooding ceremony for doctoral students.
The 64 students in the School of Music Class of 2026 include 29 who earned doctoral or master's degrees and 32 earning bachelor's degrees. Among undergraduates, 11 students earned second or third degrees in areas of study outside of Music, including Accounting, Biology, International Studies, Bioengineering, Psychology, and Mathematics.
