Xinrui Huang was born in Anhui, China, and began her piano studies at the age of 4. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Piano Performance at the University of Washington, under the tutelage of Craig Sheppard. In 2019, she attained her bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Nanjing University of Arts under the mentorship of Gang Sun on First-class scholarship as the recognition of her academic excellence. During her undergraduate years, Xinrui stood out as the sole representative from the Conservatory of Music chosen to embark the exchange program at Taiwan University of the Arts with a full scholarship in 2017 under the guidance of Minhui Wang. In 2022, She received her master’s degree in Piano Performance from Mannes School of Music in New York with a generous scholarship, under the guidance of Jerome Rose.

Xinrui is an active performer and has been invited to perform as a soloist and chamber musician at several prestigious music venues in the United States such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kresge Auditorium at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Meydenbauer theater in Bellevue and Meany Hall at University of Washington. Recently, as one of the winners of the Piano Concerto Competition, she performed Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Northwest Sinfonietta at Meany Hall of the University of Washing in Seattle, conducted by David Rahbee. She was also invited by the “Golden Classical Music Award” to make her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York. Her accomplishments also include prizes competitions such as the Washington MTNA State Competition, Debussy International Music Competition, Golden Classical Music Award, Charleston International Music Competition, International German Music Competition, Yamaha Asia Piano Competition, the ‘Jasmine Cup’ Competition in Jiangsu province and the Macau Piano Invitational Competition, etc. She has presented at masterclasses for renowned pianists including Gabriel Chodos, Garrick Ohlsson, Victor Rosenbaum, Robin McCabe and Alvin Chow, among others.

Apart from her performance experience, Xinrui is passionate about sharing her knowledge and technique with her students by teaching piano. She is a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
