The University of Washington Modern Music Ensemble presents a concert of chamber music, featuring Olivier Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time ( Quatuor pour la fin du temps). Also on the program is Toru Takemitsu's Messiaen-inspired work, Quatrain II and Saariaho's Changing Light for soprano and violin, a work whose text contemplates the same transcendent ideas embodied in Messiaen's Quartet almost 60 years earlier.
