Guest artist Tomoko Miyamoto presents a workshop demonstrating a clavichord from instrument maker Keith Hill.

Tomoko Akatsu Miyamoto, a native of Japan, received her B.M. and M.M. degrees with honors from the New England Conservatory of Music and the Soloist Diploma from the Amsterdam Conservatory in organ performance. Since 1980 she is introducing the clavichord to Japan through the collaboration with the instrument builder Keith Hill, USA. Tomoko’s major recordings include Oosthuizen ( Holland), Bach at Ferris University,Yokohama, Japan (Published by LOFT) and The World of the Clavichord, Discovering a “Concealed” Realm , recorded on the P. Lindholm(1788) (Published by Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments). Currently, she serves as a professor at Ferris Music College and at its Graduate School of Ferris University.
