Gül Fahriye Evren, a visiting scholar from Turkey, presents a voice recital of art songs, arias, and traditional music from Turkey, Germany, France, Italy, and beyond.

Artist Bio: Gül Fahriye Evren

Gül Fahriye Evren comes from Turkey. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, Division of Music Education at Konya Selcuk University in 2004, a Master of Arts in 2006 and Ph.D. in 2011. She worked in Selcuk University State Conservatory Theatre and Turkish Classical Music Departments, as well as Selcuk University’s Faculty of Education, Music Education Department from 2004-2006. Gül Fahriye Evren also served as a lecturer in Erciyes University, Kayseri from 2006-2013. She has been an Assistant Professor since September 2013 at Erciyes University.

During her musical career, Gül Fahriye Evren has given many concerts and competed in many different countries and cities. Gül Fahriye Evren also researches voice disorders and voice therapy, physical and mental relaxation techniques in music education and Turkish and foreign language education in voice training.

With the Voice Division, School of Music, University of Washington, she performed the role of “Giunone” with Orpheus Ensemble's presentation of La Calisto, also performed in the UW Opera Theatre presentation during the 2015-2016 school year at University of Washington.
