After years of hosting an annual sale of used loaner pianos, the UW School of Music this year announces its final piano sale and the end of the loaner piano program.

"For many years, we have had the privilege of having new Yamaha Pianos loaned to us by Classic Pianos," says Doug Mathews, School of Music administrator. "This program is ending, and all the grand and vertical pianos used in this program have been gathered and moved to Classic Pianos showroom in Bellevue for this final sale."

The sale runs September 13 through 16 and will include all the pianos on loan as well as other allocated pianos at institutional discounts. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday September 13 through 15 and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16.

Pianos for sale include baby grands, grands, professional uprights, digital keyboards, and more. In addition to Yamaha pianos, new Bosendorfer and Schimmel pianos, restored Steinway pianos,  used Kawai, and others will be available.

UW faculty, alumni, staff, and students will have an opportunity to view and purchase pianos before the sale opens to the general public by scheduling a private appointment for Sept. 13, 14, or 15. To set an appointment, call 425-451-4774. Classic Pianos is at 10635 NE 8th St., Bellevue, WA 98004.
