Colin Todd receives Together We Will Award

School of Music staff member Colin Todd has been recognized with a University of Washington “Together We Will” honor, a special UW award created to recognize outstanding contributions of UW staff in 2020. Todd, senior computing specialist at the School of Music, was one of ten UW staff selected for the honor among 500 nominees across the UW’s three campuses.

The awards, created as a temporary replacement for the UW’s Distinguished Staff Award program and part of the UW’s prestigious Awards of Excellence, recognize essential staff workers, healthcare professionals, and others who went above and beyond in ways big and small to support colleagues and the greater UW community during the extraordinary challenges of 2020.

According to School of Music administrator Jenifer Moreland, Todd received more nominations than any other UW nominee.

Todd’s recognition centers around his critical contributions to enabling the School of Music to pivot to a largely online learning and performance environment in the COVID-19 pandemic. His work since March 2020, according to School of Music Director JoAnn Taricani, “has allowed our students to keep making progress on their degrees at all levels; otherwise, this would have been a lost year.”

Numerous School of Music faculty nominated Colin Todd for a Together We Will award. Read the nominations.
