Composer Courtney Bryan’s Requiem, written for the vocal quartet Quince Ensemble (of which School of Music faculty soprano Carrie Shaw is a member) was originally intended to showcase the group and satisfy the composer’s longtime wish to write an a cappella requiem, but became a piece uniquely apt for our time.
