Concerto Competition winners to perform with UW Symphony on June 6

Winners of divisional concerto competitions held at the School of Music this academic year perform with the UW Symphony on June 6 at Meany Hall.  Kaisho Barnhill, marimba; Flora Cummings, viola; and Sandy Huang, piano join the orchestra in a program featuring their winning concerto excerpts. 

Cummings, an undergraduate viola student of Melia Watras double majoring in Viola Performance and Wildlife Conservation, performs the first movement of York Bowen's Viola Concerto in C minor, Op. 25. View a brief video of Flora here.

Barnhill, a  percussion student of Professor Bonnie Whiting pursuing bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Psychology, performs Keiko Abe's Prism Rhapsody. View a brief video of Kaisho here. 

Sandy Huang, a student of Professor Robin McCabe pursuing bachelor's degrees in Piano and Microbiology, performs the first movement movement of Camille Saint-Saën's Piano Concerto No. 5, in F major, op.103, Egyptian. View a brief video of Sandy here.
