The School of Music celebrated its Class of 2025 on Friday, June 13 with the school's annual Grand Finale celebration, featuring student and faculty remarks, a brief performance by graduate Ella Kalinichenko (MM, Piano Performance), recognition of graduating students, and a reception in the School of Music Fishbowl.
Associate Director Ted Poor welcomed graduates and their loved ones to Brechemin Auditorium for remarks by students Adia Bowen (BM Vocal Performance; BA American Indian Studies), Lorin Green (DMA Woodwinds), Assistant Teaching Professor Mark Rodgers, and Divisional Dean of the Arts Gabriel Solis. Graduates were recognized during an informal processional across the Brechemin Auditorium stage, and doctoral students participated in the School's first-ever "hooding ceremony" for doctoral students.
The sixty students in the School of Music Class of 2025 include 33 who earned doctoral or master's degrees and 27 who earned bachelor's degrees. Among undergraduates, seven students earned a second degree in an area of study outside of Music, including Philosophy, Psychology, American Indian Studies, Physics, Law, Societies, & Justice, Neuroscience, and Mathematics.
