Jennifer Rodgers is completing her doctoral study in May 2020. Her dissertation, "A Voice in the Choir: Modernizing the Language and Practice of Voice Pedagogy in the Choral Culture" combines her background and interdisciplinary focus in choral conducting and choral and voice pedagogy. She has presented and published in the area of choral relevance, including a chapter in the 2020 GIA publication Relevance in the Choral Art: A Pathway to Connections. A third area of interest and research is the musical self-efficacy of adult avocational singers, which garnered her an invitation to present at the "Finding a Voice" Conference at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.

In addition to her research and writing, Jennifer has served as the program coordinator and musical theater voice instructor for UW, and is the Artistic Director of the Everett Chorale, an 85-voice community concert choir. She came to UW from 20 years as a freelance singer, voice teacher, and conductor in the Washington, DC area.
