Kevin Baldwin is an expirimental artist creating a name for himself by tackling some of the most ex innovative music around the U.S. With over 30 premieres by composers such as Francois Rose, Eneko Vadillo-Perez, and his own works; Kevin has sought to push the saxophone and music to its limits.

Kevin has traveled and performed as a soloist and in ensembles around world, including Beijing and Shanghai, China; Paris, France; and Maccagno, Italy.  The New York Times reviewed one of Kevin’s concerts as “…precise and energetic…” Kevin has performed with numerous ensembles such as Iktus+, Ensemble Mise-en, Tactus, Qubit, and Tempus Continuum Ensemble.

Recently, Kevin has received commissions and several other premieres from ensembles such as andPlay, Cellophone, and the Tempus Continuum Ensemble. Influenced by the writings of notable writers such as Heidegger, Deleuze, and Baudrillard, the more recent compositions (sub//tect, I walked into a void // mute) have changed drastically from Kevin's earlier works. Previously, Kevin received an honorable mention in the 2009 National Association of Composers of the USA Young Composers Competition for his piece, Meditation, for solo Bassoon.
