M.M. Jazz Studies and Improvised Music
Steve Treseler is a master's student in jazz studies and improvised music at UW. He holds a jazz saxophone performance degree from New England Conservatory where he studied with Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Brookmeyer, Geroge Garzone, and Steve Lacy. His most recent album Center Song featuring renowned NYC trumpeter Ingrid Jensen received a four-star review in DownBeat magazine and has been featured nationally on Jazz After Hours and NPR. Steve’s is the author of The Living Jazz Tradition: A Creative Guide to Improvisation and Harmony which has been used in college improvisation classes across the country.
