A junior degree recital by Sydney Belden, voice student of Thomas Harper.  With Dhayoung Yoon, piano.


Biography

Sydney Belden is a junior at the University of Washington pursuing two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies, and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance. She is also involved in UW Greek Life as an MC '20 of Alpha Chi Omega, Rho Chapter and plays on the UW Club Water Polo Team.At UW, she sings in the UW Chamber Singers and performed in this years UW Opera, Philemon und Baucis. Outside of UW, Sydney is a Choral Section Leader Intern at the UCUCC and a performing member of the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle, where she was also an intern this summer in their Public Concerts Division. Last year, she was a finalist for the Seattle Opera Guild's Singers Development Awards where she sang in the Tagney-Jones Hall at the Seattle Opera and is now an ambassador for them. This summer, she is so excited to be going abroad to perform the roles of Belinda in Dido and Aeneas (Vienna Summer Music Festival - Vienna, Austria) and Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte (Lyric Opera Studio Weimar - Weimar, Germany). Later this year and next, she is even more excited to be performing at the Tacoma Opera in her first professionally staged and orchestrated productions of Carmen and The Tales of Hoffman.
