Biography
Lauren Kulesa recently graduated from the University of Washington with a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance, where she was a student of Dr. Kari Ragan. In 2017 and 2018, she was an Encouragement Award Winner at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Portland where she was a chorus member in the Mock’s Crest Productions of H.M.S. Pinafore and Ruddigore. In 2018, she sang the role of Le Feu in University of Washington’s production of L’enfant et les sortilèges and the role of Mrs. Fiorentino in Pacific Lutheran University’s Street Scene. This spring she sang the role of Mabel in a concert version of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance and the Soprano role in Hydrogen Jukebox by Philip Glass. She also travelled to China with the UW Wind Ensemble as a featured soloist. This coming October, she will be singing the role of Sister Genovieffa from Puccini’s Suor Angelica, with Lyric Opera Northwest.
