The School of Music uses the 1,206-seat Meany Theater as its main concert venue for large ensemble performances, full-scale opera productions, faculty recitals, and guest artist appearances. The School’s symphony, wind band ensembles, studio jazz ensembles, and large choral ensembles each present quarterly concerts at Meany Theater. The School’s Percussion Ensemble presents once concert per year on the Meany mainstage and the UW Contemporary Group has historically presented two concerts per year in this venue.

 

 


LOCATION
Meany Theater is located in Meany Hall, on the southwest corner of the UW’s Central Plaza (“Red Square”). Meany Hall’s main entrance leads directly into Meany Theater. 

DISABILITY ACCESS
Meany Theater is accessible via ramps and elevator from the UW Central Plaza Garage (NE 41st Street and 15th Avenue NE).
