Christopher is pursuing a doctorate in piano performance at the University of Washington where he is studying with Craig Sheppard. He is a teaching assistant for the Secondary Piano Department teaching both class piano and private lessons.

Christopher Mechell graduated from the Jacob’s School of Music at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, with a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance in 2008. As a music scholarship winner throughout his years, Christopher studied with Evelyne Brancart and Edward Auer.

Christopher has had much experience teaching students of all ages and has taught privately in Minnesota and Indiana. On the university level, he has led master classes regarding piano performance that included post secondary option and undergraduate level piano students. In addition, Christopher has given lectures in various venues in Winona, MN and has presented programs and performances for people with disabilities. Christopher has made it his credo to give back to the community whenever possible.
