Ethnomusicology Associate Professor Shannon Dudley, with co-authors Marisol Berríos-Miranda (Affiliate Assistant Professor of Music) and Michelle Habell-Pallán (Professor of Gender Women and Sexuality Studies), host this celebration marking a decade of work on the project American Sabor: Latinos and Latinas in U.S. Popular Music.

First created as a museum exhibit for the Experience Music Project in 2007, American Sabor travelled to 18 cities in the United States and Puerto Rico. American Sabor has now been published by the University of Washington Press as a bilingual book (Spanish and English) with more than 100 color illustrations and a companion website for listening resources.

Featured guests for this celebration include musician Juan Barco, EMP Curatorial Director Jasen Emmons, and Miriam Bartha, co-founder of the UW Certificate in Public Scholarship.
