Biography

Leann Conley-Holcom (DMA Choral Conducting '17) was appointed Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at Seattle University beginning in September 2018. She heads the the voice program, conducts four choral ensembles, and teaches conducting and group voice. She continues to be active as a professional singer, with recent engagements including performances the GRAMMY-award-winning True Concord Voices and Orchestra in Tucson, and Bach Ensemble Helmuth Rilling, which recently presented concerts of Bach's Christmas Oratorio in Sindelfingen and Schwabisch-Gmund, Germany. Prior to com­ing to UW, Leann spent sev­eral years teach­ing in the San Fran­cisco Bay Area, where she was Direc­tor of Choral and Vocal Activ­i­ties at Chabot Col­lege and Asso­ciate Music Direc­tor at the Grammy-award-winning Pacific Boy­choir Acad­emy. She holds a master’s degree in choral con­duct­ing from North­ern Ari­zona Uni­ver­sity, where she led the Uni­ver­sity Singers and taught voice, and a bachelor’s degree in voice from Pacific Lutheran University.
