Biography
Sonja Myklebust is a DMA student at the University of Washington in cello performance studying with Eric Gaenslen. Sonjareceived a masters of music from UW and a undergraduate degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. Sonja performs as a member of Inverted Space – a UW graduate ensemble focused on performing modern and contemporary classical music, as cellist in the award winning Oceana Quartet, and as principal cellist with Seattle Collaborative Orchestra. Sonja is also a founding member of the indie cello group the Portland Cello Project. Sonja works for the UW World Series as their Campus Engagement Intern where she helped to spearhead the formation of a UW student arts engagement team, a group that focuses on organizing and presenting free chamber music concerts for UW students as well as social events to involve students in the performing arts. Sonja is on faculty at Edmonds Community College.
