The School of Music and the Center for Digital Arts and Experimental Media (DXARTS) co-curate the Music of Today series featuring groundbreaking new works and modern classics performed by renowned visiting artists.

In this concert, newly appointed faculty pianist Cristina Valdes performs Ein Kinderspiel, by Helmut Lachenmann, and Quattro Illustrazioni, by Giacinto Scelsi. New Jazz Studies appointee Greg Sinibaldi,  with faculty colleageues Richard Karpen and Luke Bergman, guide improvisations by an orchestral ensemble of 20-plus musicians from across UW Music programs.  UW student composer Marcin Pączkowski presents  “...where odd things are kept,”  a 2014 work for sensors and live electronics.
