Biography
Kaity is a graduate student in Music Education at the University of Washington and elementary music specialist in Seattle, WA. Her research focuses on Culturally Responsive Teaching and professional development, and she holds certificates in Kodály and World Music Pedagogy. Her passion is for all students to experience joy, reflection, and community through music, while building skills for lifelong creativity and critical thinking. She is committed to pursuing anti-racism and multiculturalism in her own teaching practice, as well as supporting other teachers to do the same. Her work has appeared in The Journal of Folklore and Education, The Orff Echo, and WMEA Voice Magazine, and at various conferences. Kaity is an MTNA Nationally Certified Teacher of Music.
