Longtime UW organ professor Carole Terry retired in June after 40 years on the School of Music faculty. Dr. Steven McGregor Demorest was born August 24, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan, and died September 22, 2019 in Evanston, Illinois after a 20-month battle with a form of lung cancer that – much like him – was very rare. True to his wishes, he passed peacefully at home with his family and loyal dog by his side.
