Quarter Notes: Winter 2015

Our 2014-15 academic year has set into motion a wealth of exciting projects, people and initiatives. This past fall we welcomed new faculty in a variety of programs, and upcoming events open to the public will feature some of their talents and research efforts. Winter Quarter, in particular, holds numerous opportunities to see our new and more-established faculty step into the spotlight.

The first of those upcoming events takes place Feb. 9 at the Walker-Ames Room of Kane Hall when faculty colleagues Douglas Cleveland, organ, and David Gordon, trumpet, present a program of new and early music for organ and trumpet (Read more here). Cleveland this past fall was named the inaugural John Delo Faculty Fellow in Organ. Gordon, meanwhile, continues to set a high bar with the Seattle Symphony, where he serves as principal trumpet, and at UW as chair of the brass program.
